| Samuel is eager for bidding to get started
New England is the only team that can negotiate with Samuel right now, but at 12:01 a.m. on Feb. 29, Shavers and partner Jay Bianco can start fielding calls from all 32 teams. "There's always communication going on with our situation," Shavers said. "We don't eliminate anyone until we've signed a new deal and move to a new city." Shavers called New England Samuel's "birthplace," and Samuel has said he'd like to remain with the Patriots. But he is also anticipating the chance to hit the open market. It is expected that Samuel's deal will exceed the $28.5 million that Nate Clements got over the first three years he received from San Francisco last year. Clements' deal was announced as eight years, $80 million, but the final year of the deal was already voided, making it a seven-year, $64-million pact.
Digital imagery changes record of history
Most of the historical photos you see in this and the previous section of this year's Salina Edition were originally recorded on film and printed on silver emulsion paper. They were reproduced for the pages you've been reading using either a digital camera or a scanner to copy the original print, and computer software to sharpen and restore the image. .
Carav PMP Sports 5MP Camera!
I am telling you, these fellows are crazythey integrated a 5 MP camera in what appears to be a rather common looking portable media player. Carav electronics says nothing to me, since they kept a low profile on the market. Still, they have recently popped out the CMV9301 PMP, which looks more than decent, but not on such a high level so as to be able to compete .
Tape of teen restrained in cell prompts probes
But the story hints at aggressive behaviour on the part of the (under age) girl. And at the end of the day, the girl's decision-making made this situation happen. As Green Jerry points out, not breaking the law is the easiest way to avoid a situation like this. This girl learned the hard way. DeepLinks Archives, January 2008
This week, along with our co-counsel, EFF filed a motion for judgment on the pleadings asking a U.S. District Court judge to throw out a copyright infringement suit brought by talk show host Michael Savage against the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Savage sued CAIR in December, alleging that CAIR infringed the copyright in his show when it posted on its web site brief excerpts from Savage's radio program in order to criticize Savage's remarks. Savage also added a federal racketeering claim stemming from that alleged copyright infringement. CAIR's use of the radio program excerpts is, of course, protected under the fair use doctrine. The Copyright Act specifically makes clear that third parties may utilize copyrighted works for purposes of commentary or criticism, as CAIR did in this case.
