And how can anyone be worth more than that? After all, Matta isn't even the game's highest paid coach. (Or in the Big Ten. Michigan State's Tom Izzo makes more, and Matta's package was prompted by Tubby Smith's superior compensation package from Minnesota. Tubby, in should be noted, made nearly as much as Matta — in 2003 at Kentucky.) Since the Ohio State Board of Trustees must think Matta's worth it, it doesn't really matter if I think it's too much money to pay a coach. I can still wonder, though. Ohio State has the money to spend on top-flight coaches (in 2006, it was the only school with an athletic budget over $100 million), but that doesn't mean you'd have to pay that much up-front money to a coach. Why not spread it out? USA Today does a great package on coaches' salaries every year.

I have questioned the intelligence of Mark Richt for some time, and he has managed in the last few months to eliminate any doubts of his limited mental capacity. He and Adams need to shut up about the 2008 National Championship and all of these peripheral issues and concentrate on discipline and academics. Richt is giving every opponent a bulletin board full of smack talk. He has had the most talented athletes in the conference, but they underachieve because they are not team players. Georgia fans are going to end up very disappointed next year if Richt doesn't get those gangsta puppies under control and focus on one game at a time. .
How rich do you feel?
It seems, according to most of the posts here, that feeling rich is vastly different from actually being rich. The 'feelers' speak of happiness, and being emotionally rich, because of family, health, friends, etc., while the 'actuals', with, no doubt, a stern look, speak of working hard, and saving your money, yet, at the same time, they seem to frown upon those considered less fortunate. Why don't they just spend some of that hard earned cash to find the happiness that the 'feelers' enjoy. Perhaps they would be less bitter toward the segment of society who are down on their luck, or to those who choose not to try to change it. Am I knocking those that work hard? No. Knowing that all you own came from the fruits of your labor is very satisfying.
Food-tasting fundraiser slated
Tasting delicious samples of food from some of the Chino Valley's top restaurants will make a difference in the classroom. Taking a "Taste of the Chino Valley" on Monday, March 3, not only means you won't have to cook dinner, but you'll be helping students and teachers as well. Proceeds from the event will be used to provide scholarships to seniors and for classroom mini-grants. The cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. More than 1,000 guests are expected. This year's sponsors are Chaffey College and the Planes of Fame Air Museum. All the fun is scheduled between 5 to 8 p.m. at the Planes of Fame Air Museum in the Chino Airport. This is the 12th year the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce has presented the program. More than $75,000 for teachers and students has been raised over the years through The Taste of Chino Valley fundraiser.

Official: Nokia N96 Super Smartphone Revealed to the World
Rumors have been swirling around on the Internet some time now about the Nokia N96, because it was supposed to meld the brawn of the N95 with the gaming goodness of the N81. As far as we can tell, this glossy black wonder totally delivers on all fronts. It really isn't much of a stretch to say that the Nokia N96 super smartphone marries the best of both worlds for the N81 and N95. On the one hand it has stuff like Symbian 60 and a 5MP camera like the N95, but it has more of the appearance of the N81, along with the N-Gage gaming platform.
